Of course we can quote our favorite verses like verse 11 keeping God’s Word in our heart or how about verse 105 the Word is a lamp to our path but when it comes to reading the whole 176 lines, it is a long way to go.
But why is it for us to choose not to read a certain part of the bible when the Word of God were written for our benefit, to guide us to live a pure life
Lately what I realized, I’ve never taken the time to read that particular chapter in its fullest. I just go along with what I heard people say about it. But now, things have changed; I fell in love with this chapter. Thank God for Charles Stanley, the author of Into His Presence, who help me to see the truth how this chapter is broken down in 22 sequences and each sequences have 8 verses and as I read each sequence I discover some high points and I’ve come to appreciate this psalm as a whole and see its beauty. I’ve come to see how the whole psalm fits together in a wonderful way.
Psalm 119 is a repetitive meditation of the beauty of God’s Word- it’s personal and speak directly to you, it is a chapter that’s help you to grow in faith and will encourage you to stay pure in this world polluted by sin. By reading it, you can find strength and wisdom to do what the Word says. Powlison says Psalm 119 is the thoughtful outcry that arises when real life meets real God.”
If you were one like me who did not give care to read this chapter because of its length, give it a try. As God shined His light into my heart, I pray that He shines His light and help you see what the author says about the commands of God, the instruction and its benefits for us.
Here is how it breaks down: verses 1-8, verses 9-16, verses 17-24, verses 25-32 and so on. Grab your bible, then tell me how your appreciation for psalm 119 changes.
