But God timely orchestrated the birth of His Son, and the plan was laid to the perfect timing by many, and they did not give it too much attention, for they were so busy.
The decree of the first census went out in God’s time. Everybody have to register to their own town, forced Joseph, a descendant of king David, to make a long, very long trip to go to Bethlehem.
In the meantime, Mary, his fiancée of course, who had to go with him, was going to have a baby at any moment. Any man, who would put themselves in Joseph shoes, would not choose to do this at this time but it was out of his power.
The strange thing was, when they arrived there, they could not find a place to stay, there was no room in the village inn, and while there, the time came for the baby to be born. What no father nor mother would hope to happen, happens!
The Savior of the world born in a trough, for feeding cattle. What a birth!
The surroundings were dark and dirty, reminds us of the world darkness and filthy with sin. Certainly, it was not the atmosphere Joseph and Mary expected, but the prophecy has to be fulfilled just as the bible said in the book of Micah chapter 5 verse 2. The Savior of the world will be born in a small town in Judah called Bethlehem. There are many lessons to learn from that event.
The first lesson is that we cannot judge a situation on the basis of appearance. The religious leaders find it hard to believe that God sent His Son into the world as a baby who would grow up in an ordinary family. But it was God’s plan
The second lesson is, an event that may seem ordinary in our lives may be an occasion when God is doing something awesome. Every event and choice in our lives has significance. Don’t abort the event before it’s time and don’t limit God’s choices. You just need the faith to believe that God is working something. His plan is perfect.
The third lesson is, sometimes being in God’s will, don’t always guarantee a comfortable life or fame but we are promised that everything, even our discomfort, has meaning in God’s plan. No matter how things look like right now for you, if you just allow your eyes to see beneath the surface, your story will have a better ending. I know the plan I have for you says the Lord.
Right now things may not turn out the way you expect but if you want to live in God’s perfect plan, you should not limit Him by your expectations and you should let Him finish working out His perfect plan for you.
